I have removed the self bailers from my boat to check for rotten timber and have found the area around the starboard self bailer is falling apart!
Does any body have any advice on how to replace this area of ply and make a waterproof seal so that i can refit the bailer?

Hi Stan, If you have a router. you can cut the wood out leaving an inlay. then glue new plywood, this being thinner. would really need to see how bad it is. hopefully doesn't need a completely relacing.

Thanks for the reply Steve,
Do you sail at Pilks Steve? I am a new memeber there, i did the beginners course in summer with my wife Sue. If you can give any advice on this repair, and some others i think this boat needs, i live near the Mere, if you have time maybe you could take a look at it? I tried to send to your email but apparently i don't have enough posts on here to allow it.
Thanks again, Stan.
