I've got a very solid combi trolley for my Ent. It tows beautifully, but it's very heavy, and it's a bloody nightmare moving it around the boat park. I pulled a muscle moving it at the NW Area champs at Morecambe this weekend (yes, I am a bit of a wimp!), so I'm now thinking of upgrading to a modern, lighter, better balanced replacement.
So - any tips on the different makes? It looks like it's a two-horse race between West Mersea trailers from Purple Marine, or Speed Sails version. How much should I be paying? Is there much difference? What about delivery (to Cumbria)? I've asked Purple and Speed these questions, but any independent advice would be gratefully received!

Hi Paul, A jockey wheel may help with your current trailer. West Mersea ones cost £46 (from Dixon Bate at Queensferry. They make West Mersea trailers at their factory on the Queesnferry Industrial Estate.) Seem to remember seeing a jockey wheel that would fit any trailer at 1st Mark in Golborne at a very much lower price. (Cannot remember how much.)
If you opt for the West Mersea version make sure it is one that is made solely for an Enterprise and not one that can be extended to fit other boats. These road bases are very much heavier. Never seen a Speed trailer so cannot comment.
Just noticed the prices, and weights of the West Mersea road bases and trolleys are quoted on the Dixon Bate site http://www.dixonbate.co.uk . Dixon Bate claim the road base has been redesigned and are now very much lighter.
The price excluding delivery for a 250 Enterprise twin cradle trolley and road base I reckon comes to a grand total of £805.32 !!
